A Whitehall man will receive several Motor Vehicle Code citations, including failure to drive at a safe speed, after a one-vehicle crash at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 16 on Pine Creek Drive, Rush Township, police said.

Faris H. El Gamil, 18, had minor injuries from the incident but did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene, police said.

They said Gamil was driving a 2012 Audi Q5 westbound and was traveling an estimated 80 to 90 mph in a 40 mph zone when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve.

The SUV crashed and came to rest in the eastbound lane of Pine Creek Drive, having sustained extensive damage to its left side. It was towed from the scene.

Police were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Ryan Township Ambulance, Hometown Fire Department and Ryan Township Fire Department.
