The annual Shower of Roses will grace the Nesquehoning community on Sunday.
The celebration, which has been observed for decades, will begin at 11 a.m. with a spaghetti dinner and food sale on the grounds of Madonna Hall, located behind the Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux at 1 E. Garibaldi Ave. in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning.
A celebratory Mass, officiated by the Rev. Thomas Osei Gyau, will take place at 1 p.m. and will include the crowning of the Rose Queen.
The 2026 Rose Queen will be Amelia Degler.
The Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Adoration will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the recitation of the rosary at 3:30 p.m. and novena/benediction, followed by the distribution of roses at 4 p.m.
In preparation for the event, a St. Therese novena continues after the 8 a.m. daily Masses at St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill, as well as at 9 a.m. Saturday at the shrine.
