Monroe Co. accepts quotes; rejects bid

Monroe County commissioners approved several items Wednesday regarding various projects in the county.

One of the items was actually a rejection.

The commissioners rejected the bids they had received in response to their Request for Proposals for Drug and Alcohol and Counseling Services at the Monroe County Correctional Facility. The bids were opened on June 18.

A resident asked why the proposals were rejected.

Commissioner Chairman John Christy said, “One proposal was for one year and the other one was for three years, and they were not apples to apples, so we had to put it back out for bids.”

The commissioners did accept quotes from Mountain Landscaping LLC to perform required maintenance per inspection notes at Levitt Branch Dam and Goose Pond Dam. The quote was $7,585, which was the lowest of three quotes. They also accepted a quote from AES Advanced Electronic Security for security items at the courthouse. That amount was $57,813.

In other business, they accepted a proposal from C&D Waterproofing Omnia Partners for gutter replacement on the Old Jail roof. The total is $312,500. A change order from Sealcrete Contracting LLC in the amount of $166,050 also was accepted. It is for additional repairs to third floor of parking deck, full depth floor and partial depth repairs. And the commissioners approved an agreement with Quark Scan for geophysical survey of county property at Sixth Street and Quaker Alley, Stroudsburg. The survey will cost $1,700.
