WE Missions dinner
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, will have its next missions meal at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
TOPS meeting
Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, hosts TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meetings at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
Flower show/sale
Pam Hubbard will be featured speaker at the Pocono Garden Club’s annual Flower Show and Plant Sale scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tannersville.
Her subject will be the title of her latest book, “The Contemporary Cottage Garden: Climate-Friendly, Mindful Methods for Growing Flowers and Food.”
The event will include a silent auction, tricky tray, garden marketplace with new or gently used garden-related items, snacks and bake sale, and door prizes.
There is an admission cost.
The club donates to many local charitable organizations.
Nature walk
On Saturday at 11 a.m., Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will take its nature walk at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center near Slatington.
The rain date is July 18.
Feast and farewell
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, will celebrate its parish feast on Sunday at 11 a.m. Mass.
A part of the celebration will be a special farewell to Father Bob, the Rev. Robert Simon, and a picnic in the pavilion. Parishioners are asked to bring a statue or icon of Mary.
Special Sunday
Effort UMC will include breakfast, bluegrass music and worship as folks gather for worship times on Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
VBS ahead
• St. Matthew’s ECC, Kunkletown, is holding its Vacation Bible School from July 13-17. It is for children 3-11. Older youngsters can serve as youth helpers. The theme is “Rocky Railway.” The hours are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, is holding its Vacation Bible School from July 27-31. It will include “music-rooted Bible adventures and wild games,” as well as “tree-top treats, sticky Scripture and an “Imagination Station.” The hours are 9 a.m. to noon.
Adult volunteers are still needed. Contact the church for more information.
PVEN needs
The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network has listed its current needs:
Food Pantry — pasta and pasta sauce; peanut butter and jelly; cereal; and cat and dog food.
Clothing Closet — cleaning products; deodorant; towels and bedding sets; and comforters and blankets.
Diaper Pantry — baby formula and baby food; bladder control pads; bed protector pads; and adult size pull-ups.

Open bingo
The American Legion Auxiliary at Post 927 in Gilbert sponsors an open-to-the-public bingo every Monday night, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Playing begins at 7 p.m.
Multigame packets are offered, with varying costs.
A cash bar and kitchen menu will be available.
Tuesday blood drive
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, is holding its community blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday.

Fundraiser set
Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will hold a fundraiser at Red Robin in Bartonsville from 4-8 p.m. July 16.
Instructions are to show a flyer “or simply mention the fundraiser to the server to have one’s sales counted.”
Military Share
West End Memorial American Legion Post 927, 646 Fairground Road, Gilbert, will host its next Military Share Program at 11 a.m. July 21.
It is a program at Second Harvest Food Bank “designed to provide fresh, nutritious foods for families with at least one member who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces.”
Each eligible military member will receive 10 pounds of fresh produce, a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, 2 pounds of meat and a 20-pound box of shelf-stable pantry items such as soup, pasta, sauce and cereal each month.
The event is held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.

Contemporary music
St. Peter’s UMC will host evening Contemporary Worship Services on July 25, Aug. 22 and Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.
The church is located at 924 Route 115, Saylorsburg.
The service will include praise, music, dance and a message of hope.
Youths, young families and couples are all welcome.

Members of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, are reminded that on Monday the daily Mass will be at 8 a.m. and that there will be no evening confessions.
Christmas in July
Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will host its “Christmas in July” worship service at 9:30 a.m. July 19. It will include Holy Communion with Christmas carols.
