One killed in Mahoning crash

One person has died from a head-on crash Friday night in Mahoning Township.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s office said Trevor S. Hunsicker, 36, of Kingston, died at 9:59 p.m. Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

State Police at Lehighton said the crash happened at 5:54 p.m. on the 400 block of Ashtown Road.

Police said the 2022 Subaru, driven by Hunsicker, was traveling west on Ashtown Road at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle, crossing over into the path of a 2015 Ram truck.

Police said Hunsicker and a passenger, Jason Reed, 50, of Palmerton were ejected. Hunsicker was transported to Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest and later pronounced deceased.

Police did not release information on Reed’s condition.

Police said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Information was not released about the occupants of the truck, Kelli Crostley, 36, of Lehighton, and Eric Crostley, 32 of Lehighton.

Mahoning Valley Fire Company, Mahoning Valley EMS, Lehighton EMS and All Points Towing assisted at the scene.

One person has died as a result of a head-on crash Friday evening in Mahoning Township. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Ashtown Road. Mahoning Township police are being assisted by state police in the investigation. The victims were treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and numerous Lehighton paramedic units before being transported to area trauma centers.
