Tamaqua Easter Egg Hunt draws hundreds of children

The Salvation Army Tamaqua Service Center’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza was held recently at the South Ward Playground and was attended by almost 400 children.

Jael Houser, the service center’s office and case manager, said the number is triple of the 2023 event.

The South Ward Playground Association allowed the Salvation Army to use the park and provided volunteers.

The New Life Assembly of God Church in Tamaqua provided support and taught children the reason for Easter, and the Kellner’s Dam Association helped transport prizes from the Salvation Army’s Tamaqua office to the park.

Decorations were provided by Justin Startzel of Just a Little Lights.
