Attorney General charges 8 for drug sales

Several people from multiple counties have been charged after a 10-month surveillance in Carbon and Lehigh counties. That included drug buys in Mahoning Township and Palmerton.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Matthew R. Pavlik/Crystal J. Adames of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General:

In April, Pavlik and Adames initiated an investigation into Wesley “Twin” Perone of Allentown and a criminal organization distributing large quantities of crystal methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl in Lehigh, Carbon and Schuylkill counties.

On April 17, a confidential informant and Perone discussed purchasing crystal methamphetamine, and Perone agreed to sell it to the informant at a specific location in Lehigh County.

Police maintained surveillance at Perone’s residence in the 200 block of Alexander Drive in Allentown.

The evidence in the sale was sent to the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory for analysis, determined to be 27.71 grams of methamphetamine.

Other transactions:

• April 25, crystal methamphetamine, net weight of 83.60 grams.

• May 6, methamphetamine, 111.66 grams.

• May 26, crystal methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl, 14.01 grams.
