State police at Bethlehem

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following:

• A 71-year-old Slatington woman is the victim of a theft by deception/credit-ATM card incident that police responded to at 3:55 p.m. Jan. 16.

Police said the resident of a property on Mountain Road, Washington Township, told them she spoke with a man posing as an Amazon Prime employee and provided him her Wells Fargo debit information, PA driver’s license and Social Security number. She related her debit card was then utilized to purchase approximately $2,500 with of crypto assets: Ethereum.

• Police said they were called to a Protection From Abuse order violation at 7:48 a.m. Dec. 27 at a property on Telford Court, Washington Township.

Police said it was determined the PFA order in place had been violated but the 50-year-old woman from Slatington said she wished to file charges through the court.

• Police were summoned to a property on Chrisphalt Drive, East Allen Township, to investigate a theft that happened between 10-11:30 p.m. Nov. 19.

The victim is Central Transport, Bath. Police said someone entered the shipping yard of the business and entered locked trailers, stealing about $17,000 worth of electronic door locks.

• A 59-year-old Slatington man was charged with harassment by physical contact after police were called to an inactive domestic incident at 12:35 a.m. Dec. 20 at a property on Best Station Road, Washington Township.

They said it was determined the man and a 56-year-old woman from New Ringgold were involved in an argument and the man drove over the woman’s left foot with a forklift.

They said the woman sustained a minor injury and refused medical treatment at the scene.

• A Slatington man is the victim of a theft by deception/wire fraud incident that police were called to at 1:05 p.m. Jan. 12 at 3608 E. Grant St., Washington Township.

Police said he received a Microsoft virus notification on his computer that resulted in $15,000 being withdrawn from his bank account and into a Bitcoin ATM.

• Jonathan Perez Hernandez, 38, of Orefield, was cited for harassment after police were called to an incident at 12:23 a.m. Jan. 16 at a mobile home park in North Whitehall Township.

Police said he drove a 2003 Infiniti through the park, throwing explosive fireworks from the vehicle.

• Police were summoned to a theft incident at 1:07 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Exxon Gas Station/Convenience Store on Main Street in North Whitehall Township.

They said the suspect arrived at the store to play at one of the skill machines. They said the man waited for the store clerk to be distracted before going behind the counter and stealing $2,800 in assorted bills.

• Police are investigating a burglary that happened between 6:15 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. Jan. 4 at a property on Nuss Way, North Whitehall Township. A 51-year-old man from Coplay had various items stolen, including a Sony 4 PlayStation, controllers, a metal safe, coins, Social Security card and passport.
