Palmerton remains in search of members to serve on its Quality of Life Board of Appeals.

Borough Manager Autumn Canfield said Thursday that anyone who would like to sit on the board may send their letter of interest to the borough office.

Last month, council unanimously approved the Quality of Life Board of Appeals, which is part of the International Property Maintenance Code.

Canfield said the borough’s code enforcement officer will still enforce the code and issue citations.

Canfield said that the board of appeals would only be an avenue for people who want to contest the ticket, much like a zoning hearing board for those who want to contest zoning violations.

A minimum of three people are needed, and they cannot be borough employees.
