Two people were injured, one seriously, in a violent crash Friday afternoon in Franklin Township. The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 209 involving a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle. The biker was traveling south when the crash occurred. The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. An occupant of the SUV was also injured.
