Fern Ridge incidents

State police at Fern Ridge reported on several incidents:

• A 56-year-old Stroudsburg man is the victim of the theft of a vehicle. Police said he reported at 3:31 p.m. July 27 that the 2018 Honda CRF was taken from in front of his residence on Miller Road in Jackson Township. The bike has a value of $4,000.

• The registration plate of a Chevrolet box truck owned by a 73-year-old Saylorsburg man was reported stolen at 1:17 p.m. Aug. 3. Police said the plate, valued at $25, was removed from the truck while it was parked along Shafer Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident reported at 11:01 a.m. Aug. 7 at the clubhouse property at Penn Forest Streams. They said multiple damages were caused in the evening of Aug. 3 at the community pool grounds, including a broken bathroom door and broken gate at the property. Police said surveillance showed the damage was done by several people who are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.

• Jelena Sagiva, 40, of Albrightsville, was issued leash law and dangerous dog citations after an incident in the evening hours of June 25 in front of a residence on Seneca Lane in Penn Forest Township. Police said it was reported to them at 12:11 a.m. June 27 that the arrestee’s dog had bitten a victim on the left hand. The victim sustained hand and finger injuries.

• A 17-year-old Jim Thorpe girl is the victim of a “theft by disposition of funds” incident. Police said she reported at 8:11 p.m. July 7 that someone withdrew $700 from her checking account at the Mauch Chunk Trust Company. Police said the account has been flagged and closed and the bank is investigating the theft.

• A 55-year-old Effort man is the victim of an identity theft incident. Police were called to at 1:56 p.m. Aug. 1 at a property on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. Police said someone tried to open a Capital One credit card by using the man’s personal information.

• A theft by deception incident involving a $39,600 certified check was averted when the check was canceled before the thief was able to cash it. A 71-year-old man from Woodcrest Avenue, Chestnuthill Township, Effort, reported the incident at 11:50 a.m. June 13.

Police said he received a scam email about a security software auto-renewal. He called the telephone number in the email and talked to the person, then sent the certified check to a North Carolina address.

• Dunkin’ Donuts at 3198 Route 115, Chestnuthill Township, was also cited after police were called there for a seventh false alarm in the last year. They were summoned the last time at 9:59 p.m. July 17.

• Ryan Fischer, 30, of Blakeslee, was charged with harassment by physical contact after they were called at 12:13 a.m. Aug. 4 to a property on Adirondack Drive in Chestnuthill Township. Police said a 23-year-old Blakeslee woman was involved in an argument over infidelities in their relationship when Fischer pushed the woman and she fell into the bath tub at the home. Police said no injuries were observed.

• The Wayne Bank at 2226 Barney Lane, Chestnuthill Township, was cited after police were called there at 10:58 p.m. July 7 for the seventh false alarm at the location in the last year.
