Dodson announces magisterial district judge candidacy

A

ttorney Beth A. Dodson, of Summit Hill, is seeking election for magisterial district judge of District 56-3-03, which includes the boroughs of Nesquehoning, Lansford and Summit Hill as well as East Penn and Mahoning townships.

With 17 years of experience litigating matters in local, state, and federal court, Dodson has been involved with every type of criminal and civil case that could possibly come before a district judge.

She also has five years of experience serving in a judicial capacity as a certified arbitrator and issued binding decisions in civil cases filed in Pennsylvania state court. Dodson also previously worked for two former Carbon County Court of Common Pleas Judges and with the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

“I attribute a lot of my success as an attorney to the fact that I have built my practice on a solid foundation of honesty, integrity, and accountability,” Dodson said. “Those values were instilled in me at a young age by my family and many people in this community. And for that, I will be forever grateful.”

“The residents of this district, and every district, deserve to have their legal matters decided by a judge who knows the law and has the proper training and intestinal fortitude to apply it equally to all. I am confident that my professional education and experience has prepared me to take on this task. If elected, I make this promise, without hesitation, to the residents of the district - I will discharge the duties of this office ethically, fairly, and to the best of my ability.”

Dodson is a 2000 graduate of Panther Valley High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College and J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, both with high honors. She served in various leadership roles on nonprofit boards, and has won numerous awards for her volunteer service within the legal community. She is the daughter of James “Jim” and Elizabeth “Liz” Dodson (Yusella) of Summit Hill.

Dodson intends to cross file petitions for inclusion on the Democratic and Republican ballots. For more information visit www.DodsonForJudge.com.
