Kord M. Spielman, a retired railroad worker, has been appointed to a vacancy on the Kidder Township board of supervisors, replacing the late Ward Howard, Lake Harmony, whose death occurred recently.

A resident of the Mosey Wood Road area of Lake Harmony, Spielman moved to the Kidder Township resort from Philadelphia late last year, following his retirement after 35 years of service with Conrail.

Twice elected to the Republican executive committee in Philadelphia, he will be formally seated when the supervisors meet next month.
