State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 6:34 p.m. on Jan. 20 along Route 209 in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Mel R. McCready, 21, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck northbound and attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of a local business when he pulled in front of a 2008 Mazda CX9 driven by Alan Fajta, 44, of Lehighton. The Mazda struck the Silverado in the rear passenger side. Fajta sustained suspected minor injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, was West End ambulance. McCready and his passenger, Taylor L. Caretta, 21, of Kunkletown, were not injured.

Both vehicles had to be towed. McCready was cited for the crash.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 6:07 p.m. on Jan. 21 along Blue Mountain Drive, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Xiangze Meng, 21, of State College, driving a 2018 Audi A4, was leaving a dirt parking area and attempted to enter a paved traffic way of a parking lot without coming to a stop and yielding to vehicles on the asphalt traffic way. As he exited the lot his vehicle struck a 2022 Lexus RX350 operated by Fadi Khoury, 32, of Staten Island, New York.

No injuries were reported. The Audi was towed.

Meng was cited for the crash.
