State police at Frackville reported on an incident that occurred along Interstate 81 in Ryan Township, Schuylkill County.

On Monday at 2:30 p.m. multiple troopers responded to the interstate for a suicidal man standing on an overpass, then darting out in front of passing traffic.

The man was identified as a 41-year-old from Port Carbon. He refused commands to stop and ran away and began running in and out of oncoming traffic. As he was running he slipped and fell, and troopers were able to take him into custody. He then resisted arrest.

After being transported to the barracks the man told troopers he was severely depressed about a relationship. He was committed to the mental health unit of a Pottsville hospital for evaluation.

Troopers said found in his possession as methamphetamine. Troopers said the man will be charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and drug related charges.
