Hill’s Machine Shop assets scheduled for auction

More than 50 years of the area’s industrial history will hit the auction block next month in Lansford.

An auction will liquidate the assets of Hill’s Machine Shop.

The business closed its doors in December with the retirement of its founder, Kenny Hill. Lansford Borough has purchased the building, which once served as a train station and freight depot.

The auction will begin at 9 a.m. on July 11, online and in person at the former machine shop, located 1 Dock St., Lansford. On July 12, remaining lots will be sold in an online auction starting at 10 a.m.

The auction catalog includes more than 1,600 lots including milling machines, lathes, welding machines, air compressors, forklifts and steel work benches.

The auction will be conducted by PA Auction Center. All items are sold “as-is” and all sales are final. There is a 10 percent buyers premium for all bidders, an additional 5 percent fee for online bidders, and a 3 percent surcharge for credit card payments.

All items must be removed by July 22 unless other arrangements have been made.

An auction preview will take place July 8 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and July 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
