Outside the front of Coaldale Fire Department, numerous emergency response vehicles were on display.

And behind it, a host of community groups set up tables and booths with free games, information — and even free hot dogs and water.

Mother Nature cooperated for the annual National Night Out event, bringing sunny skies and warm temperatures.

Children and adults could get free balloons from JustinCredible, who whipped up flowers, cartoon characters and more.

They could also meet the Tamaqua Police officers who keep their borough safe.

Even representatives from Coaldale borough were on hand to distribute information about available community services.

And the Coaldale Crime Watch offered games to play.

Area churches, businesses and more also were a part of Tuesday’s event.
