CCTI students collects items for animal shelter

With the assistance and generosity of the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, the students at Carbon Career & Technical Institute held a competition within the 15 technical areas at the campus.

Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club donated $1,000 to the school and the competition was on.

The technical area, which collected the most items to be donated to the Carbon County Animal Shelter would be presented the check for that amount to purchase equipment for the next school year. A total of 577 items were collected and delivered to the animal shelter.

Auto Service Technology was the winner with a total of 133 items collected.

Brent Borzak, administrative director, coordinated the event along with advisers from the school.

“It was amazing to see how excited and generous our students were for the benefit of our furry friends,” Borzak said.

“Our students have been involved with many community activities this year, and we hope to continue and increase this community involvement in the coming years.”
