Hotel Bethlehem 100-year anniversary party May 28

Historic Hotel Bethlehem announces it 100th anniversary celebration.

The hotel will be hosting an evening of music, exceptional food and drinks, history displays, visits from former famous guests, former general managers, and more throughout the hotel on May 28.

Starting at 4:30 p.m., the hotel will be joined by special guests, including Mayor J. William Reynolds and Chamber President Tony Ianelli for a kickoff ribbon cutting.

Bands from both Nitschmann Middle School and Liberty High School will perform to welcome guests.

Throughout the evening, a wide array of special events will occur, including:

• Four different music venues throughout the Hotel, featuring a variety of music from the last 100 years

• Panel discussions highlighting Hotel history, from the early years through today

• Engaging presentations, including Hotel Ghosts and the George Gray Murals

• Experiential Hotel history rooms, displaying Historic Hotel artifacts plus early Moravian Bethlehem artifacts to highlight the Hotels history, from the site of the First House to the last 100 years as the Hotel Bethlehem

Hotel Bethlehem was uniquely built to serve both the Bethlehem social scene as well as allow Charles M. Schwab to host Bethlehem Steel customers and dignitaries from around the world. The construction of the Hotel Bethlehem was his vision along with the Chamber of Commerce in order for Bethlehem Steel to compete with his former employer U.S. Steel and the elegant new hotels that had recently been opened in Pittsburgh.

“We invite our community to join us for a fun filled evening while revisiting great moments from the Hotel’s famous past,” Haines added.

The Historic Hotel Bethlehem is located the heart of National Historic Landmark District in Bethlehem.
