Blue Bomber Notary opens in Palmerton

Wendy Borger realized a longtime dream when she opened Blue Bomber Notary in Palmerton.

Located at 210 Delaware Ave., she opened up shop on March 23.

“I always wanted to be a notary,” Borger said. “I feel that the community has backed me tremendously; the public has been phenomenal.”

In addition to notarizing, she’s a full agent for instant transfers - titles and plates, ATV and snowmobile registrations, copy and fax, and plans to add dog licenses.

She will be assisted by Chelsea Morgan, who will serve as an independent agent.

Borger said the idea for the name of her business was suggested by borough Mayor Don Herrmann.

She said she received an offer from the owners of the building, Roger and Sarah Berger, who she said “have been wonderful and supportive.”

“I really want to praise them, because without Roger’s kindness and support, I would not have been able to do this without him and Sarah,” Borger said. “He kind of gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse, so I figured it was worth a shot.”

Borger takes over for Bev Ehret, who owned Bedrock Notary before she gave it up to assist her daughter Lisa in her fight against cancer.

“Bev, she gave back to the community,” she said. “I want to do the same thing.”

Borger, of Bowmanstown, said she’s confident her business will thrive.

“I hope that I’m successful, and want to give back to the community,” she said. “My prices are in line with other local notaries.”

Borger plans to hold a grand opening at 11 a.m. April 9 for people to meet them and check out her new business.

She said there will be a ribbon-cutting, along with food and snacks.

“It’s to make it official,” Borger said. “That it’s officially happening; my hard work is finally paying off.”

Along with being a notary, Borger continues to serve as fleet administrator at Pencor Service Center in Palmerton, a position she has held for over 23 years.

On top of that, Borger has been a volunteer with Dream Come True Blue Ridge Chapter for 23 years, and serves as recording secretary and activities coordinator.

In her spare time, Borger works as a hairdresser, an occupation she’s held for 32 years, and also works as an independent consultant with Scentsy.

Borger is married to Gerald “Butch” Borger Jr., and together, they have a son, Kevin of Bowmanstown, a daughter, Heather, of Palmerton, and four grandchildren.

Blue Bomber Notary is open from 4:30-9 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 6-9 p.m. Friday; 9-1 Saturday; and Tuesday by appointment only.
