PARRYVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL

Parryville Borough Council took the following action:

• Announced Riverwalck is hosting a Halloween event later in the month, and Mayor Tom Kobal “made it clear” that the business must “control traffic and trash.” In the past, a stop sign was removed and thrown into the creek. Councilman Dustin Wentz said, “we have no proof of who did that, and we can’t just accuse people without proof.”

Councilman Donald Smith added, “We need to remember that Riverwalck is very good to this community, and that includes the fire company. They agreed to pick up trash and watch over parking, and I trust they will do that.”

• Approved the purchase of an iPad to control the cameras after PPL denied the request for cameras to be placed on PPL poles in the borough park, as the cameras are not issued by law enforcement, and there are other places where the cameras can be mounted.

• Smith said he “is finally getting somewhere with PPL” regarding broken streetlights. He said at that time he was going to do one more drive through of town and call with poll numbers.

• The fire company will host a breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 7. Councilwoman Monica Kunkle stressed for people to “come early. We will be out of food by noon.”

• A spaghetti dinner will be held 4-7 p.m. Nov. 13.

• Breakfast with Santa is 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 5.

• The Community Tree Lighting Ceremony will be 5 p.m. Dec. 11.
