Woman receives Neighbor of the Month award

A Bowmanstown woman known to be a leader in the community has received her just due.

It was announced at Tuesday’s borough council meeting that Brandy Kresge has been announced as the borough’s Neighbor of the Month.

Mayor Zach Snyder made the announcement in advance of the meeting, as neither he nor Kresge were able to attend.

Snyder said it was truly an honor to name Kresge for the distinction.

“I’ve known Brandy for more than 20 years, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger heart for friends, family and community than her,” Snyder said. “She deflects credit for all that she does, but her energy and creativity are infectious, to the benefit of anyone who knows her.”

Snyder noted that Kresge, who lives in town with her husband, Eric, and their two children, has been a leader in both Scouts and cheerleading, but most recently she’s a founding member of the Bowmanstown Family Activities Committee, bringing events like FallFest, WinterFest and Spring Farm Festival to the borough’s small town.

“The time, talent, dedication she brings to these events is remarkable,” he said. “It’s a blessing for Shellee and I to count you as a friend, and our community is grateful for the time and energy you have invested into Bowmanstown and our families.”
