3 face charges following drug bust in Weatherly

Three people in Weatherly are facing drug charges.

Patrolman Joshua Silfee of the Weatherly Police Department filed details in the case against Kevin Lindemuth, Valerie Weston and Alec Buchman:

On March 24, Carbon County, the Borough of Weatherly and Silfee assisted The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms with a federal search warrant at the house where Weston lives with her juvenile son.

Police found packaging material for heroin and fentanyl, a scale and multiple empty glassine bags with small rubber bands indicative of packaging heroin or fentanyl. In Weston’s nightstand was a small plastic container containing methamphetamine, a grinder with a white powder residue, as well as needles used to inject narcotics; found in her home and in her possession was a small package of five glassine bags containing suspected fentanyl, all easily accessible to the child living in the residence, and a .22-caliber revolver loaded with five live rounds of ammunition registered to a deceased man.

Weston said the gun was given to her by a friend, and that she didn’t know it was a real firearm. Weston’s cellphone showed text messages facilitating multiple deals for narcotics with multiple buyers.

On March 24, Silfee was involved with the coordination of a controlled buy of narcotics. An informant text messaged Lindemuth, 41, who is listed as homeless, on a cellphone to purchase heroin and methamphetamine.

Lindemuth said he had methamphetamine, but did not have any more heroin, though he knew a guy that had some and would have him come to Weatherly with him.

Lindemuth went to a U-Haul box truck in Weatherly being driven by Buchman, 25, of West Hazleton, and another man. Lindemuth exited the U-Haul from the passenger side and approached the front door, where he was met by uniformed officers and taken into custody and found to be in possession of methamphetamine, as well as 49 bags of suspected heroin, and a cellphone.

Lindemuth told police he only had the methamphetamine on him, so he called Buchman for the brick of heroin.

Buchman said the heroin was not his, and said that he has proof that Lindemuth sells major amounts of methamphetamine.
