Tamaqua police release information on cases

Tamaqua police recently released the following reports on incidents investigated by officers.

• Robert Lee Clifford III, 24, of Allentown, has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Jan. 4 at 2:19 a.m. a vehicle stop of a Honda Civic occurred along Route 209 near the “Number 11” hill. Clifford was a passenger in the vehicle. A check revealed Clifford had an outstanding warrant from state parole. He was taken into custody. A search of Clifford’s person revealed he had three hypodermic needles.

• Keith Daniel Neff, 38, of Tamaqua, has been charged with violating a protection from abuse order.

The police report indicated that Neff was at a residence along North Greenwood Street on Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. and a PFA order prohibited him from being there. He was found at the location and charged.

• Carl Francis Rex, 46, of New Ringgold, has been charged with defiant trespass for an incident on Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.

Police received a call from a resident along Owl Creek Road that Rex was at his residence and was previously told not to be there. Police noted it was part of an ongoing harassment between Rex and the victim.

• Jorge Caleb Segura, 30, of Lansford, has been charged with receiving stolen property and drivers required to be licensed following an incident on Jan. 11.

An officer on patrol in the 200 block of North Railroad Street, made a traffic stop after running the registration plate of a vehicle. The plate was found to be a “dead” tag. Segura was the driver and had only a Georgia ID and he was under suspension.

• Kietchen Eaches, 38, of Tamaqua, has been charged with criminal trespass for an incident on Jan. 11.

At 7:22 p.m. police received a trespassing complaint on the 300 block of Schuylkill Ave.

A neighbor reported a man walking around the property and noted the person who resides there was not home and was in the hospital. Eaches was found inside the residence.

The property owner confirmed to police Eaches had no permission to be on the property. The property renter also stated Eaches had no permission to be on the property.

Jeremiah R. Sanders, 32, of Tamaqua, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance - heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Feb. 5 at 6:29 p.m. police were dispatched to the Tamaqua Car Wash along Cedar Street for a theft in progress report. Police made contact with the male suspect along Cedar Street. He was identified as Sanders. While speaking with Sanders, police asked permission to search his backpack, which he granted. Found in the backpack was a hypodermic needle and a small orange pack with a gray cross on it. Sanders was then given his Miranda warnings and admitted heroin was in the backpack and other paraphernalia.

• James Paul Carnes, 50, of New Ringgold, has been charged with materially false written statement and unsworn falsification to authorities for an incident on June 11, 2020.

Police said Carnes attempted to purchase a 9 mm pistol from Ed’s Sports Shop, West Broad Street, but is prohibited from purchasing firearms due to a felony conviction of possessing a controlled substance in the state of Missouri on Feb. 2, 2003. In filing out the application Carnes failed to indicate his felony conviction.

• Nadya Edouard, 37, of Tamaqua, has been charged with bad checks.

On Feb. 18 police were informed that Edouard issued a bad check to Kotch Notary Services for payment to transfer a title and plate sales tax fee. The check was issued Dec. 18, 2020, in the amount of $399.70. A certified letter and standard delivery letter’s were sent to Edouard but she never responded. Total restitution sought is $434.70.

• Brad Charles Frye, 39, of Quakake, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while operating privilege is suspended and operation of vehicle without inspection.

On Feb. 16 at 3:12 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop at Pine and Biddle streets. Frye was the driver and a check showed his license was suspended and there was a bench warrant for his arrest. While taking him into custody on the warrant police found Frye had a small bag of suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe with residue inside the vehicle.

• David N. Benitez, 37, of Coaldale, has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

On Feb. 11 at 1:17 p.m. police were dispatched to 201 Schuylkill Ave., for a report of a suspicious man. On scene police made contact with Benitez. A check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. When taken into custody he was found with marijuana.

• Dominic Staboleski, 28, of Tamaqua, has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering and prowling at night.

On Jan. 31 at 8:54 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of 25 Market St., for a report of a theft from a vehicle. On scene Staboleski was found and identified by the victim and another witness as the person who entered a vehicle and stole items. The items were recovered. A review of a security camera footage showed Staboleski loitering in the area and committing the theft.

• Allen Scott Bauder, 36, of Andreas, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for an incident on Jan. 27 along South Greenwood Street. Police made a traffic stop. Bauder was the driver and a check revealed he had a suspended license. Found in the vehicle was an orange container filled with 12 pills with no labels.
