NCC offers new class, info session

Embroidery classes

It is easy to learn to customize your garments with Northampton Community College embroidery classes.

In the introductory class, you will learn design software and how to upload your file to the Brother Embroidery Machine. The class will be held Jan. 16, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Fab Lab, Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem. The fee is $99.

From there, go on to the more advanced class, in which you will learn more complex digitizing techniques and how to operate the embroidery machine on your own.

The introductory class is a prerequisite to this more advanced one. The advanced embroidery class will be held Monday and Wednesday, Jan. 18 and 20, 6:30-9:30 p.m., also at the Fab Lab, Fowler Family Southside Center. The fee is $199.

Virtual phlebotomy information session

Learn about Northampton Community College’s phlebotomy technician training program at a free, virtual information session on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m.

Phlebotomists do blood specimen collection, and the class includes venipuncture, capillary collection, safety, medical terminology, orientation to the clinical laboratory and health care, and specimen handling and processing, blood pressure, pulse and basic life support for health care provider.

The course runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 16 to May 27, 8 a.m. to noon.
