Hotel plans to apply for liquor license

A Franklin Township hotel has applied for a liquor license.

Township secretary Brenda Cressley announced at Monday’s board of supervisors meeting that the establishment at 1619 Interchange Road plans to submit a request for a liquor license.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson occupies that address.

In March, supervisors heard a pitch for a proposed Marriott Hotel that would have 89 rooms, according to an investment group looking to build what would be the third hotel within less than 1 mile of each other on Interchange Road.

Interchange Investment Group LLC, Bethlehem, which owns the Hampton Inn, purchased 9 acres of land owned by the Hampton Inn for $1.1 million that includes parcels 955, 973 and 1055 Interchange Road, along with 10 Rock St.

Town Place Suites Marriott Hotel would be built at 1055 Interchange Road, the site of the former Jimmy’s Gym, and would have 89 parking spaces.

The hotel would join the Hampton Inn, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, along Interchange Road.
