FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS

Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Monday:

• Agreed to advertise a stormwater management ordinance.

• Announced there will be no change in garbage collection pickup for Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 18.

• Gave a reminder that Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Phifer’s Ice Dam Park (Penn Street entrance) until Jan. 31. That applies to township residents only.

• Agreed to advertise bids for 10,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel, and 6,000 gallons of heating oil (more or less), escalator clause in effect, with bids to be open at the board’s Feb. 16 meeting.

• Agreed to advertise bids for 10,000 gallons (more or less) 87 octane no-lead gasoline, at-the-pump price on Feb. 12, escalator clause in effect, with bids to be open at the board’s Feb. 16 meeting.

• Agreed to reinvest maturing CD (Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank) which matures on Jan. 21, retroactive to the board’s Feb. 16 meeting.
