Concert to benefit Angela Theatre set for Saturday

An action-packed night is set for Saturday at the Angela Theatre in Coaldale.

The Mega Yeah, a local band, will perform a charity concert on behalf of the venue. All proceeds will go directly toward the theatre.

“There aren’t really many businesses left in Coaldale,” said John Knepper, who lives in Coaldale and plays guitar for the band. “We went and talked to Mike Danchak and his mom Deb who ran it, and they said it would be great.”

After The Mega Yeah plays, there will be a livestream performance by Joe Jack Talcum, who was in a popular bad called The Dead Milkmen. The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be shown to conclude the evening.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9. Cost is $20.

“Three out of the four of us would go to the theater all of the time,” said Knepper, of his band members. “When we heard that they weren’t doing great, we knew we had to do this.”
