The Reading and Northern Railroad has decided not to run all-day excursions this fall between Reading Outer Station and Jim Thorpe. The Reading and Northern has many proud employees, who are also railfans, that look forward to these trips every year. We also know that many of you make riding these trains an annual tradition.

Due to state regulations associated with COVID-19, it is impossible to plan all-day excursions without the threat and embarrassment of cancellation.

We understand it is very disappointing and frustrating to know the rules and regulations can change from day to day. Please consider writing to the governor or secretary of health, along with your local representatives concerning COVID-19 regulations on businesses.

The railroad and its employees will miss seeing you on all-day excursions this year, however, the railroad plans to schedule excursions in the future as soon as regulations over COVID-19 finally end.
