State police report on Lehigh County crashes

State police at Bethlehem reported the following crashes investigated by troopers:

• A one-vehicle crash was reported on Aug. 1, about 12:45 a.m. along East Grant Street in Washington Township. Troopers said Michael L. Kern, 51, of Slatington, was operating a 2006 Volkswagen eastbound and lost control going around a right curve. The car went across the road, striking a utility pole along the berm, then traveled another 100 feet before coming to rest. Kern was not injured and the vehicle sustained moderate damages.

Kern was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A crash was reported at 9:50 a.m. on Aug. 16 along Route 309 in Heidelberg Township. Troopers said Jennifer L. Richardson, 37, of Slatington, was driving a 2002 Ford Focus southbound while Jeffrey A. Dreisbach, 55, of Orefield, was northbound in a 2016 Hyundai Accent. Richardson was driving on a right hand curve and going too fast for conditions. Her vehicle entered Dreisbach’s lane of travel and a collision occurred.

Both drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Richardson was cited for the crash.

• A crash occurred at 8:02 a.m. on Aug. 14 along Route 873 in North Whitehall Township. Troopers identified the drivers involved as Richard A. Shimoskie, 58, of Slatedale, and Emily A. Bear, 18, of Danielsville. Troopers did not identify the vehicles involved or provide details of the crash. No one was injured. Both vehicles were towed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 10:13 p.m. on July 26 along Route 22 in Bethlehem Township. Troopers said Kyle Young, 49, of Slatington, and Riley J. McGlazer, 34, of Santa Monica, California, were both traveling eastbound in the right lane. McGlazer was having mechanical issues with his 2005 Subaru Forester with its engine smoking. Young did not observe the problem and his 2014 Peterbilt dump struck hit the Forester.

No one was injured.
