670 new virus cases reported Sunday

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Sunday that there are 670 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 133,504.

There are 7,673 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 2 new deaths reported. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 21,013 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,493 cases among employees, for a total of 25,506 at 928 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,189 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 9,608 of total cases are among health care workers.

Locally, Carbon County reports two new cases for a total of 422 positives and 28 deaths.

Lehigh County has 5,196 cases, an increase of 12 cases. There are 343 deaths.

Luzerne County has 3,771 cases, an increase of three cases. There are 188 deaths.

Monroe County is reporting 1,712 cases and 127 deaths.

Northampton has 4,114 cases, an increase of two. There are 300 deaths.

Schuylkill County has 985 cases, with 51 deaths.
