Register of wills chief deputy retires

The Schuylkill County Commissioners praised the dedication of an employee last week.

Gloria Adamski retired Aug. 13 after having been an employee for more than 30 years.

She was the first chief deputy in the Schuylkill County Register of Wills office.

Commissioner George Halcovage Jr. said Adamski has “served the register of wills office extremely well.”

He said she deserved a recognition for a job well done.

Commissioners’ Chairman Barron “Boots” Hetherington also appreciated her commitment to the courthouse and the public.

He has known her for years.

Commissioner Gary Hess said a letter should be sent showing the county’s gratitude.

Theresa Santai-Gaffney, Schuylkill County register of wills and clerk of the orphans’ court, said she has worked with Adamski for nine years.

“Gloria was quite an asset here with her knowledge and experience. She was an amazing employee and we were blessed to have had her for 36 years. We will miss her and wish her a healthy and happy retirement,” Santai-Gaffney said.

Adamski declined an interview, saying she didn’t need recognition for doing her job.
