Carbon County Commissioners discussed or acted on the following items on Thursday:

• Approved an agreement with Shipman’s Pharmacy of Palmerton for advertisement on pharmacy bags for the Area Agency on Aging. Medibags will be distributed with a circulation of approximately 24,000 customers at a cost of $495.

• Awarded the contract for the Carbon County Correctional Facility Water System Control Building Equipment and Piping rehabilitation project to Bognet Inc. of Hazleton, which bid $256,000.

• Ratified the submission of an application for a D&L Trail maintenance grant that is available to offset costs related to trail maintenance.

• Approved the renewal of the lease agreement with Mauch Chunk Trust Company for the rental of property at the railroad station for an additional five years beginning Jan. 1, 2021.

• Commissioner Wayne Nothstein announced Commissioner Rocky Ahner was recently recognized by Second Harvest for his time and commitment to emergency food pantries and shelters during the pandemic.
