The Giant Company, in partnership with Team Pennsylvania designated $250,000 for the emergency grant program to help support small businesses in Pennsylvania’s food supply chain.

Due to the overwhelming response, the company decided to double the amount of funding available to $500,000.

In all, the company is awarding 110 grants to help support small businesses in Pennsylvania’s food supply chain impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Miller Charm Farm LLC, a cattle operation and butchering business, received a $5,000 grant.

Selected from more than 500 applicants, the grant is to help support their employees and their families.

The workforce has doubled to meet the challenges of maintaining the supply of fresh products that go through their stores on St. Peters Road, Tamaqua and at the Hometown Farmers Market.
