Albrightsville man faces multiple charges
An Albrightsville man faces multiple charges in two separate incidents in Nesquehoning over the past two months.
Adrian Malcomn Thompson, 26, of Mountain Road, faces charges of disorderly conduct, breaking into a structure, prowling at night, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to an affidavit filed by Nesquehoning police officer Richard Neikam, at just before midnight on May 15, he was called to the 100 block of West Railroad Street for a reported break-in in progress.
Upon arrival, Neikam observed fresh blood on the front steps of the home and porch and the window had been smashed out.
The victims in the incident said they were in bed when they heard a loud crash.
Police from Nesquehoning and Summit Hill followed the blood trail to a neighboring residence. In the back of that home, several people were outside.
A woman was also observed mopping the kitchen floor as she attempted to clean up blood.
No one would tell police what they knew, but calls to area hospitals turned up a man, later identified as Thompson, at St. Luke’s Miners ER in Coaldale with a severe arm injury.
Coaldale police responded to the hospital and learned he was driven there by another woman.
Thompson was read his rights and refused to speak with police, but the driver told police Thompson was at her home early and then left but came back at approximately 11:30 p.m. with a bleeding arm.
Police then impounded Thompson’s vehicle at the hospital.
Chief Sean Smith interviewed the residents at the neighboring home and all three denied knowing Thompson, but it was later learned that was false.
On June 26, Neikam was patrolling near the CVS parking lot on Locust Street, when he noticed a Kia Forte driving through the lot.
Neikam identified the driver as Thompson, who had a felony warrant out for his arrest.
Police followed the Forte to the Turkey Hill on West Catawissa Street and after parking, Thompson approached the cruiser and accused Neikam of following and harassing him.
Neikam told him he was placing him under arrest because of the warrant and Thompson began to tense up.
The two then struggled as Neikam attempted to cuff Thompson.
Thompson was finally taken into custody and a search found cocaine folded up in a $1 bill.
Thompson was arraigned for both incidents before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek in Lansford on June 27 and is free after posting $5,000 bail.
