Chestnuthill meeting to be closed to public

Due to safety concerns in regards to group gatherings and COVID-19 mitigation, the Chestnuthill Board of Supervisors meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday will not be open to the public.

The meeting agenda is currently available online at Chestnuthill Township’s website. A written record of the meeting will be available by the afternoon the day following the meeting.

As these meetings are classified as essential businesses to the township in order to legislate policy and budgets, the supervisors are required to do everything in their capacity to carry them out. The safety of the public and the supervisors was the focal point of closing to the public.

If the social distancing recommendations continue through May, the supervisors are considering all options for future meetings such as streaming the meetings online and setting up a form of remote access.
