State police at Lehighton report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported the following incidents:

• A Monroe County man is facing assault charges following an incident that occurred on Jan. 19.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded at 5:40 p.m. to a residence along Molasses Valley Road in Polk Township, for a welfare check on a 15-year-old male who was reportedly involved in a domestic altercation that occurred on the night before, Jan. 18, but was not reported.

Troopers saw the teen had injuries from an assault. Kelly Costigan, 45, of Kunkletown, was on scene and taken into custody and charged with assaulting the teen. The investigation is continuing.

• Troopers also reported on an incident on at 11:02 p.m. Jan. 14. Troopers said at a residence along Unionville Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, a 52-year-old Jim Thorpe man, who troopers declined to identify, was charged with harassment - physical contact. The victim was a 52-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe.

• Troopers also reported the arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of Austin Gregory Homlak, no age or address given. Troopers said Homlak was involved in a one-vehicle crash about noon on Jan. 20 along Route 248 in Bowmanstown and found to be under the influence.
