West Penn Township supervisors took the following action on Monday:

• Temporarily appointed Tom Ackerman as an alternate for the planning commission to serve the remainder of this year to replace David Morgan, who resigned because he’s moving out of the township.

• Announced that the township is accepting letters of interest to fill an opening for a new planning commission member, as well as an alternate member; to fill openings on the zoning hearing board and property maintenance appeal board; and to fill two-, four- and six-year auditor positions until Dec. 30. All appointments/reappointments will be made at the board’s reorganization meeting on Jan. 6.

• Announced that the Census Bureau is recruiting census takers, and the township is looking for residents to serve as census takers. The website to apply is 2020census.gov/jobs.
