Carbon County Court — ARD

Four first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program, or are revoked from it, they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Placed were:

Rosa M. Gonzalez,

51, of Lansford, was placed for six months on a charge of hinder apprehension. She was charged by Lansford police on March 27 for harboring a wanted person at a residence along East Kline Avenue.

She was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 20 hours of community service.

Amy Lynn Cacciola

, 43, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of tampering with/fabricate physical evidence. She was arrested by Lehighton police on March 1 following a vehicle stop at Route 209 and the Weissport bridge.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Leonard Q. Jones,

43, of Summit Hill, was placed for six months on a charge of theft by unlawful taking. He was charged by Summit Hill police with taking top soil from a playground in the borough.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to make restitution of $100 to the borough.

Rachael Marie Witkowski,

35, of Weissport, was placed for six months on a retail theft charge. She was arrested on Oct. 14, 2018, by Mahoning Township police at the Walmart store.

She was assessed $650 and ordered to make restitution as determined by the adult probation office.

The four defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
