Pocono Blue Grass & Folk Society’s Winterfest this weekend

The Pocono Blue Grass & Folk Society will present Winterfest ‘19 this weekend beginning at 4 p.m. today and at noon both Saturday and Sunday. Most of the events will take place at the Pocono Plaza Inn, 1220 W. Main St., Stroudsburg.

Fifteen bands will perform: Dan Paisley & Southern Grass, Louie Setzer & The Appalachian Mountain Boys, Launch PAD, Mama Corn, Grillbillie Project, Heavy Traffic, Hilltown Home, Mason Dixon Bandits, Coal County Express, Serene Green, Texas Rose Band, Last Small Town, East Coast Wise Guys, Strawberry Ridge and Last Small Town.

In addition, a kickoff concert by The Lost Ramblers will take place at 6:30 p.m. today at the ARTSPACE Gallery, 18 N. Seventh St. in Stroudsburg.

The Juggernaut String Band with Woodrow will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. today at Shawneecraft Brewery. The band will conduct a kids’ jugband workshop at the Eastern Monroe Public Library at noon Saturday.

Workshops will take place at the Pocono Plaza Inn on Saturday featuring Anthony Hannigan of Launch PAD on mandolin at 1 p.m.; Shane McGeehan of Serene Green on bass at 2 p.m.; Michael Johnson of Serene Green on guitar at 3 p.m.; Mark Doncheski of Strawberry Ridge on banjo at 4 p.m.; and Jeff Wisor of The Lost Ramblers on fiddle at 5 p.m.

At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, there will be an All Faith’s Spiritual Music Celebration fireside in the lobby. Most commonly referred to as the “Gospel Hour,” organizers have chosen to be more inclusive. Gospel music will be played, but they welcome songs of peace, hope and unity.
