2019 general election: Republicans win Penn Forest seats

Two GOP members won a four-person race for two six-year terms on the Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.

Scott Lignore and Christian Bartulovich were the victors, defeating Democrats Roger L. Meckes and Sherry Knappenberger.

Lignore led the way with 994 votes, followed by Bartulovich with 914. Meckes’ total was 792 while Knappenberger trailed with 737 votes.

The township voters were also slated to fill two seats on the board of auditors, one for a six-year term and the other for a two-year term.

While there were no candidates on the ballot, 51 write-in votes for the six-year term and 43 write-in votes for the two-year term were received.

The county’s election board will review those submissions to determine the winners of the seats.
