State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of gasoline from a maintenance shed at the Hideaway Hills Golf Course in Polk Township.

The incident happened at 1:28 a.m. June 15 when someone broke into the shed at the golf course property, 159 Golf Road. Police said 21 gallons of gas were taken out of a tank and the suspect fled the scene in a pickup. The color, make and model of the truck is unknown, but police said it is known the vehicle had a loud muffler.
