Walk with a doc

Dr. Joanne Calabrese will lead Tamaqua's second Walk With a Doc event, sponsored by St. Luke's's Health Network, this Thursday, Aug. 17.The walk will begin at 6 p.m. at St. Luke's Internal Medicine Office, 120 Pine St.Free blood pressure screenings and fresh fruits and vegetables will be available.The walk is approximately 1 mile long.BloodmobileAn American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held from 1-6 p.m. at the Tamaqua YMCA onAug. 24.Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health, is eligible to donate blood.Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule an appointment by calling 800-733-2767 or online at
