Ten defendants in pending driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday.

Senior Judge Leonard Zito specially presiding from Northampton County, accepted pleas from:Jeffrey Lynn Gildner, 53, of Palmerton, was arrested on Feb. 1 along Route 248 in Parryville by state police at Lehighton. He refused a test. He also pleaded to driving under suspension - DUI related.On the DUI charge Zito sentenced him to serve 10 days to 24 months in prison, a fine of $500; and on the suspension count 60 to 120 days in jail, and a fine of $500. The jail terms run concurrently.He will begin the jail term at 8 a.m. on Aug. 1 and serve it on consecutive two-day periods of Tuesday to Thursday.Allen Steven Montanari, 42, of Weston, Luzerne County, pleaded to two counts of DUI.He was arrested for both counts on the same day, March 15, 2016. The arrests occurred along Interchange Road in Franklin Township filed by state police at Lehighton and along Delaware Avenue filed by Palmerton police. In both cases tests revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Montanari can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.Jamie Lynn Schembri,39, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Dec. 31, 2016, along Overlook Drive in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred to Schembri can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Kimberly Ann Reinart,41, of Lehighton, was arrested on Jan. 29 along Canal Road by Franklin Township police. A test revealed a 0.28 blood alcohol content.Sentencing was deferred to she can obtain a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.Judd A. Zimmermann,55, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Jan. 19 along Fairyland Road by Franklin Township police. A test revealed a 0.19 blood alcohol content. Zito placed him on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $300.Lisa Marie Williams,48, of Lehighton, was arrested on March 18, 2016, along Route 248 in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. She refused a test.Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Kevin Michael Werkheiser,36, of Schnecksville, Lehigh County, was arrested on Jan. 30 along Third Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Zito sentenced him to serve 10 days to 24 months in prison, a fine of $1,500 and 1 year license suspension.He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on July 24.Brittanie Lee Farrington,26, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Dec. 21, 2016, along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.15 blood alcohol content.Sentencing was deferred so she could apply for placement in the county's IPP.Shawn Joseph Donovan,58, of China, Maine, was arrested on May 28 along First Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He also pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.He has been an inmate in the county prison since his arrest. A motion by defense counsel Matthew J. Rapa to reduce his bail from $20,000/10 percent to the same amount unsecured, was granted by Zito. Zito said, however, that Donovan must remain in Pennsylvania until his sentencing, which was deferred because he needs a drug and alcohol evaluation.Lisa Marie Reese,32, of Stroudsburg, was arrested on June 12, 2016, along Route 209 in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.22 blood alcohol content.Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Those sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole and follow any recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
