Eleven defendants in pending criminal cases were placed in Carbon County's Accelerate Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Thursday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program then their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it or are revoked from it then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted:Daniel Lawrence Cotter, 30, of Brodheadsville, was placed for six months on a charge of statement under penalty. He was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident at Eastern Arms & Outfitters, in Penn Forest Township, for attempting to purchase a gun and giving false statements on the application.He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program.Cameron George Dickson, 20, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Feb. 5 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township during a traffic stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Brittany Marie Denton, 25, of Tobyhanna, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. She was arrested on Dec. 26, 2015, by state police at Lehighton along Bridge Street in Weissport. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600, zero tolerance imposed on drug and alcohol use and her license was suspended for 60 days.Brandon Lee Frantz, 24, of Andreas, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Dec. 18, 2016, along Coal Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Tammy Lee Fritchman, 46, of Walnutport, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Aug. 17, 2016, along Second Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $650 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Kris Tyler Knappenberger, 22, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Feb. 18 by state police at Lehighton in the area of Lower Smith Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Samentha J. Locher, 22, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of marijuana. She was arrested on Jan. 13 in the area of Square One Market, Interchange Road, by Franklin Township police.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Traci Ann Mangold, 47, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on March 16 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. She refused a test.She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.Joshua Kenneth Pensyl, 30, of Summit Hill, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Aug. 30, 2014, by state police at Lehighton along Route 443 in Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $650 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Jarred Strohl, 25, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Oct. 2, 2016, along Hahns Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.20 BAC.He was assessed $550 and his license was suspended for 60 days.George Brian Shultz, 18, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Jan. 19 by state police at Lehighton along Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program, and those charged with DUI must follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
