A Carbon County man admitted to a charge of terroristic threats and theft, in separate incidents, on Thursday in the county court.

He was one of five defendants in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II in a daylong session of court.Palmerton incidentsWilliam Richard Hartzell, 58, of Palmerton, was charged with the threats count on Feb. 1 by Palmerton policein the 500 block of Franklin Avenue. He threatened the property ownerafter the owner confronted him on his property. Hartzell toldthe victim to let him go because he had a gun. There was no gun. The theft charge stems from an incident on Jan. 23 at thesame property, where Hartzell admitted entering a garage and removing scrap copper piping. Hartzell later sold the copper at a scrap yard. The sale was captured on the business's video security system.Nanovic placed him on probation for a total of two years and ordered he make restitution to the victim for a total of $475.80 and get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Other pleasMichael Allen Bollinger, 43, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of theft. He was charged by state police at Lehighton from stealing three guns, two pistols and a shotgun from the home of his fatherand selling them at a pawnshop. The incident occurred on Jan. 1. Bollinger is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.Nanovic deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.Troy Darren Dubois, 46, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested on June 17, 2016, in the 800 block of Mauch Chunk Road by Palmerton police. A charge of resisting arrest was dropped in a plea bargain.Police responded to the area for a report of a male causing a disturbance, alleging people were after him with guns. Police found Dubois.Dubois admitted to a long-term mental health issues but said he is currently under a doctor's care and is on medication, which has controlled his problems. He said the day of the incident he was off his medications. He also admitted to an alcohol abuse problem.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year, consecutive to a probation term is currently serving, and ordered he get both mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations.Melissa Louise Primer, 43, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of simple assault. She was arrested on May 3 by Mahoning Township police for an incident at a Jamestown Street residence. She went to the home of a female to settle a dispute with the female and a relative of Primer. Primer said the incident got out of hand and she admitted assaulting the victim.Nanovic placed her on probation for a year and ordered her make restitution of $613 for damages done in the residence and to have no contact with the victim.Elliott Allen Christman, 23, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested by state police at Lehighton for stealing a snowboard at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township on Dec. 26, 2016. He was employed at the ski resort at the time. The snowboard was recovered by troopers from the trunk of Christman's vehicle.Christman told the court he was intoxicated at the time and lost a job he enjoyed doing because of it. Nanovic placed him on probation for 18 months and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
