Bids submitted to demolish Schuylkill properties

Seven companies are vying for the job of demolishing dilapidated buildings in Schuylkill County, including one in Coaldale.

County commissioners on Wednesday opened the bids, but will review them before making a decision on June 14.The properties are 216 E. Ridge St., Coaldale; 51 S. Lehigh St. and 60-62 N. Lehigh Avenue, Frackville; 142 E. Grand Ave., Tower City; and 1 W. Ogden St., 25 S. John St., and 136-138 W. Ogden St., Girardville.They're being torn down using a $1.4 million state grant the county received in January.The bidders are:• AMC Enterprise, Frackville: Project A (1 W. Ogden St., Girardville) $24,849; Project B (136-138 W. Ogden St., Girardville) $13,849; Project C (25 S. John St., Girardville), no bid; Project D, (51 S. Lehigh St., Frackville) no bid; Project E (60-62 N. Lehigh Ave., Frackville) no bid; Project F (142 E. Grand Ave., Tower City) $74,948; and Project G (216 E. Ridge St., Coaldale) $49, 789.• ADM Logistics, Port Carbon: Projects A, B, and C, no bid; Project D, $42,299; Project E, $46,599; Projects F and G, no bids.Affordable C & D, Coal Township: Project A, $15,240; Project B, $15,000; Project C, $14,400; Project D, $83,000; Project E, $68,325; Project F, $64,480; Project G, $54,900.• Dudash Pipeline, Pottsville: Project A, $15,777; Project B, $16,078; Project C, $18,777; Project D, no bid; Project E, $97,777; Project F, no bid; Project G, $46,777.• Ferdinand Diminick Contracting, Danville: Project A, $17,700; Project B, $19,700; Projects C and D, no bids; Project E, $87,000; Projects F and G, no bids.• Northeast Industrial Services, Shamokin: Project A, $27,890; Project B, $42,400; Project C, $44,390; Project D, $89,840; Project E, $178,740; Project F, $79,440; Project G, $37,690.• Empire Services, Reading: Projects A, B, and C, no bids; Project D, $103,324; Project E, $202,887 Projects F and G, no bids.The grant has already been used to demolish a building in Minersville.In other matters, commissioners approved a $6,134,824 purchase of service with Service Access and Management.The agreement is from July 1 through June 30, 2018.Service Access provides mental health case management, early intervention, intellectual developmental disability support coordination, mental health forensic case management, intake services, and housing assistance.Also on Wednesday, commissioners approved the submission of a grant application to the state Department of Community and Economic Development for the Emergency Shelter Grant Program for $65,564 in additional funds for the Rapid Re-housing program.
