St. Luke's, Da Vinci center to explore nervous system

In partnership with the Da Vinci Science Center, St. Luke's University Health Network has opened enrollment for its mini-medical school for adults and high school students.

This year's program will focus on the body's nervous system, while exploring Da Vinci's newest exhibit: "Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear."The deadline for registration is 3 p.m. on March 13. Spots are limited.St. Luke's Mini-Medical School is a four-session program that runs on Saturdays from March 18 through April 8. The adult group meets each week from 9 to 11 a.m,, and the high school group meets 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.Session locations alternate between Temple/St. Luke's School of Medicine at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem and the Da Vinci Science Center in South Whitehall Township near Allentown.The sessions include:Session 1: Anatomy and Physiology of the Nervous System will meet March 18 at the science center;Session 2: Nervous System Pathology will meet March 25 at St. Luke's;Session 3: Clinical Applications will meet April 1 at St. Luke's;Session 4: Present and Future Treatment of Nervous System Disorders will meet April 8 at the science center.Participants will be chosen at random from registrants who have registered before the deadline.
