Dog shot during Monroe burglary

A dog was shot during a Monroe County burglary. It was one of two break-ins reported by Pocono Mountain Regional police.

p.m.Nov. 9, police were called toa residence on Warwick Circle in Coolbaugh Township for a reported burglary. On scene, the homeowner told officers the house was full of blood and his dog was missing. After an investigation police found that the suspects broke a rear window to gain entry to the home. Once inside the suspects were possibly attacked by the owner's dog. The dog was then shot multiple times by the suspects before they fled.The police report did not indicate if the dog survived the incident.The second entry occurred ata residence on Waterfront Drive, A Pocono Country Place, K section, in Tobyhanna. Forced entry was made to the home. The homeowner said numerous items were removed. The incident was reportedThursday.Anyone with information concerning either incident is asked to call police at 570-895-2400.
