EASTON (AP) - A Pennsylvania woman who once forged doctors' notes claiming she had cancer to try to get out of jail is back in the clink on charges she forged checks to steal from her fiance and his parents.

The (Easton) Express-Times reports Kimberly Gerlach face a preliminary hearing next week on charges including forgery and theft.She remained in the Lehigh County jail on Wednesday and doesn't have an attorney listed in court records.The 50-year-old Emmaus woman was jailed for theft in 2011 when she asked to be furloughed or given house arrest by claiming to have bladder cancer, emphysema and a couple of strokes.She received more jail time for perjury and forgery for using fake doctors' notes.In the latest case, Gerlach is charged with forging two checks worth $4,000.
